8 arrested in Navotas drug raid
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), in coordination with the Navotas police, arrested eight suspected drug pushers, including a 61-year-old man, during a raid Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent Florendo Quibuyen, Navotas police chief, told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that PDEA agents raided three houses on Roldan Street in Barangay (village) Tangos around 5 a.m. while city policemen guarded the perimeter of the area.
Arrested in the operation were Norberto Gozon, Boy Celin, Mylene Cahandig, 61-year-old Macario de la Cruz, Rudy Acuin, Alvin Bautista, Robert Cortez and a man known only by his alias, Jun Tana.
Several sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” were seized from the suspects, Quibuyen added. Kristine Felisse Mangunay
