The leftmost and middle lanes (lanes 1 and 2) of the Marilao Bridge Northbound are closed for safety repair works from Sunday, 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
The Marilao Bridge sustained damage last Wednesday after an 18-wheel cargo truck struck its bottom part. One of the bridge’s beams fell onto a passing vehicle, which led to the death of one of its passengers.
The NLEx Corp. on Saturday suspended the toll collection on the northbound portion of the NLEx from Balintawak to Meycauayan City, Bulacan from June 22, 1 a.m. until midnight of June 23.

This came after the Department of Transportation ordered the suspension of toll collection on the affected segments of the expressway in the Marilao while the bridge undergoes repairs.
This is the second time this year that the overpass bridge, which has a vertical clearance of only 4.27 meters, was damaged which led to its repair for two weeks. /mr
