San Juan City formally received the Certificate of Recognition from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on June 19 at Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City during the Regional Peace and Order Council-National Capital Region’s 2nd Full Council Meeting.
The certificate was awarded by PDEA-NCR Regional Director Emerson Rosales to San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, in the presence of Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla, during a recognition ceremony that affirmed the city’s commitment to anti-drug efforts.

The award was granted following the successful deliberation and validation by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing, composed of PDEA, DILG, the Philippine National Police, and the Department of Health.
San Juan achieved 100% drug-cleared status across all its barangays as early as 2023, a critical prerequisite to being recognized citywide under more stringent and comprehensive criteria.
Zamora expressed his gratitude to the oversight committee, the San Juan Police, barangay officials, the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, department heads, and the people of San Juan for their collaborative efforts.
He emphasized that the city’s fight against illegal drugs does not end with recognition, but will be continuously upheld through sustained enforcement, community-based rehabilitation, and preventive education programs.
San Juan City not only leads the region in drug-clearing efforts but also holds the distinction of having the lowest crime volume in Metro Manila.
