14 die of dengue in Zamboanga City

MANILA, Philippines—Fourteen from among 1,053 victims have died from the mosquito-borne dengue virus in Zamboanga City, a Radyo Inquirer report by Erwin Aguilon said early Tuesday.

The rise of dengue cases prompted an intensified search-and-destroy campaign in places that are possibly infested by mosquitoes, said city health officer Dr. Rodelin Agbulos.

He added the declaration of dengue outbreak is still up in the city due to expected rise of dengue cases in the coming days.
