Manila Water ensures reliable supply for over 800 PH schools
In support of DepEd’s OPLAN Balik Eskwela, Manila Water has ensured reliable and safe water supply to over 800 public schools nationwide within its service areas Additionally, through Manila Water Foundation, the company has also distributed refrigerated drinking fountains, installed five-faucet hygiene facilities, and built booster pump installations and water tank upgrades to selected schools.
Manila Water has placed water reliability at the heart of its support for the Department of Education’s (DepEd’s) OPLAN Balik-Eskwela 2025, ensuring that more than 800 public elementary and high schools across its East Zone concession area and Non-East Zone operations are benefitting from reliable and safe water supply especially as schools opened early this week.
This nationwide effort underscores the company’s commitment to fostering safe, healthy, and conducive learning environments for Filipino students.
East Zone of Metro Manila and Rizal schools
In Metro Manila and Rizal Province, 733 public schools and daycare centers are ensured consistent water pressure, which is valuable to daily school operations and student well-being.
Manila Water, through Manila Water Foundation, also donated 20 refrigerated drinking fountains to selected schools, installed five-faucet hygiene facilities in six schools, and implemented Water Asset Installation and Rehabilitation projects in two schools, which included booster pump installations and water tank upgrades.
Fifty schools also received desludging services to improve sanitation and prevent environmental hazards.

In partnership with Manila Water Foundation, the company further extended its impact through the distribution of hygiene kits under its Lunas initiative, and the donation of cleaning materials to support this year’s Brigada Eskwela preparations.
These efforts have directly benefited over 80,000 students in 28 schools, including Francisco Felix National High School in Cainta, Rizal; Pinagbuhatan High School in Pasig City; and Angono Elementary School in Rizal. Schools in Quezon City, Makati, Mandaluyong, Marikina, San Juan, and Manila also received support through various water and hygiene-related interventions.
Non-East Zone schools
Beyond the East Zone, Manila Water’s Non-East Zone operations have ensured active water services for 49 schools in Laguna; 57 schools in Calbayog City, Samar; 35 schools in Tanauan City, Batangas; 4 schools in Boracay Island; 5 schools in Pampanga; and 20 schools in 3 municipalities in Pangasinan.
These efforts reflect the company’s broader commitment to inclusive development and equitable access to water services across the country.
