MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Wednesday urged beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) to ensure their children are enrolled and attending school regularly to remain eligible for cash assistance.
The DSWD made the reminder following the start of School Year 2025 to 2026.

According to the DSWD, 4Ps beneficiaries with children aged 3 to 18 must ensure that their kids are enrolled and maintain 85 percent attendance to stay eligible for educational cash grants
“This is important, not only for compliance with educational grants but also to ensure that your children will have a brighter future,” said 4Ps National Program Manager Gemma Gabuya in a statement in Filipino.
The program also launched its Bata Balik Eskwela campaign to boost attendance further, encouraging out-of-school youth from low-income families to resume their education through formal schooling or the Alternative Learning System.
“We will ensure that 4Ps monitored children remain in school. We are also prepared to guide and support children who are unable to comply with the educational conditions of the program,” added Gabuya.

Under Republic Act 11310, the 4Ps program provides conditional cash allowances to poor households for up to seven years to improve children’s health, nutrition, and education.
To keep receiving cash grants, beneficiaries must send their children to school, attend family development sessions, and secure regular health check-ups. (Ryanna Aquino, INQUIRER.net trainee)
