Woman shot dead by motorbike-riding gunman in Valenzuela City
MANILA, Philippines — A 34 year – old woman was shot dead by a motorcycle-riding gunman in Valenzuela City, the Northern Police District (NPD) said on Friday.
The incident took place at the corner of F. Bautista Street and MacArthur Highway in Barangay Marulas early Thursday evening, the NPD detailed in a statement on Friday.
“The victim… was declared dead on the spot after sustaining a fatal gunshot wound to the head,” police said.
“The gunman, who was riding as the back passenger, approached the victim from behind and shot her before fleeing the scene,” the police added.
The fatality was identified only as a resident of Barangay Marulas, Valenzuela City.
Authorities also said they got the motorcycle’s plate number but did not disclose it in the statement.

The NPD further said the Valenzuela City Police Station forensic unit is processing the crime scene, while the Philippine National Police forensic unit will conduct an autopsy.
Police launched a dragnet operation to catch the suspects while also reviewing closed circuit television footage from nearby establishments, NPD added.
