MANILA, Philippines – Malacanang on Tuesday called on teachers and parents to stop resisting the K to 12 program in order the put the country’s education system at par with the rest of the world.
Asked for comment on the Alliance of Concerned Teachers’ view that the K to 12 shouldn’t have pushed through this school year due to incomplete teaching modukes, Undersecretary Abigail Valte instead called for cooperation from education stakeholders.
“It is normal for any plan of reform to be met with resistance,” the deputy presidential spokesperson said in a text message.
“However, we need to overcome this resistance in order to put our education system at par with international standards to ensure our graduates will have the necessary skills and qualifications,” Valte added.
