Thunderstorms will develop and prevail in some Luzon areas on Sunday afternoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

MANILA, Philippines — Thunderstorms will develop and prevail in some Luzon areas on Sunday afternoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its 12:46 p.m. thunderstorm advisory, Pagasa warned the public that moderate to heavy rainfall with lightning and strong winds is expected in Cavite and Batangas in the next two hours.

Meanwhile, a downpour is experienced in the following areas:

  • Laguna(Calamba)

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” the state weather service said.

Earlier, Pagasa warned that an LPA inside the country’s boundary has a “medium” chance of developing into a tropical depression.

The state weather bureau also reported that this LPA would bring cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms to the Bicol, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas regions, as well as in the provinces of Aurora and Quezon. /jpv
