Did you know: Dengue cases

The month of June has been declared Dengue Awareness Month in the Philippines. There were 22,113 dengue cases reported in the country from January 1 to April 28, 2012, or around 17 percent lower than the 26,709 cases reported in the same period in 2011. Of the total, around 27 percent, or 5,926 cases, were from the National Capital Region, the highest among the country’s regions.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
