Heat index to reach ‘danger’ levels in 33 areas on June 2 – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Isabela State University in Isabela province is forecast to experience the highest and dangerous heat index of 46°C on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its latest bulletin, Pagasa said its monitoring stations in three areas also forecast a heat index of 45ºC in their respective locations:

Twenty-nine other areas are also expected to hit the “danger category” (42ºC to 51ºC). Under this level, Pagasa said, “heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely,” and “heatstroke is probable with continued exposure.”
