MANILA, Philippines -The Land Transportation Office (LTO) will implement strict rules on its anti-colorum (public utility vehicles operating illegally) and no overloading policies for drivers of school services.
Lawyer Teofilo Guadiz III, LTO regional director for NCR, said he has deployed his personnel to monitor those who violate these rules. He said corresponding penalties would be awarded to violators.
For the first offense, Guadiz said drivers would be given the following penalties: a fine of P2,000, three months suspension of license, car impounding, and removal of car plate.
He said drivers who would commit the offense for the second time would suffer from cancellation of car registration and revocation of license.
Guadiz added that drivers’ school services should register under the LTO and should have yellow-color plates.
He said that the strict policies were meant to secure the safety of the public, especially students using these services. Fatima Reyes
