LEGAZPI CITY — A total of 101 police officers from Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) received the Medalya ng Kadakilaan (Medal of Heroism) for their service during the 2025 national and local elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Police Brigadier General Andre Dizon, Bicol police chief, personally led the awarding ceremony held on Friday, May 23, at Camp Simeon Ola in Legazpi City.

The decoration, one of the Philippine National Police’s highest service honors, was given in recognition of the officers’ courage, professionalism, and commitment in ensuring a peaceful and orderly election in a region often challenged by security concerns.

“This awarding also serves as a morale boost for the personnel, underscoring the value and importance of their selfless service to the nation,” Dizon said.

He added that maintaining peace and order across the Bicol Region remains a top priority for PRO5. /das
