MANILA, Philippines — Authorities confiscated allegedly unregistered Korean-made consumer goods valued at P200,000 from a store in Quezon City, leading to the arrest of two individuals, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) announced.
In a statement on Thursday, the CIDG stated that the seizure and arrests were the result of a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Talipapa, Novaliches, on Tuesday.
The operation yielded 58 boxes of assorted products, including luncheon meat, coffee, soft drinks, and juice, “which are allegedly not registered in the Food and Drug Administration and traded without a license to operate,” police said.
This was a violation of Republic Act 9711 of the Food and Drug Administration Act.
