Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac to turn in courtesy resignation

MANILA, Philippines — Secretary Hans Cacdac of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced on Thursday that he will step down from his post.

Cacdac made the statement following the call of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the courtesy resignation of all cabinet secretaries.

“As a member of the President’s official family, I am always subject to the control, and work under his trust and and confidence, of His Excellency,” Cacdac noted.

“I therefore humbly heed the call for courtesy resignation, which I shall submit immediately today,” he said.

Marcos said the move is meant to “recalibrate” his administration following the results of the 2025 midterm elections.

The Commission on Appointments confirmed the interim appointment of Cacdac as the DMW chief in August 2024.
