MANILA, Philippines — Unregistered vape products valued at P9.1 million were confiscated in Bulacan, leading to the arrest of a Chinese national, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) announced.

The operation took place last Tuesday in Barangay Prenza 1, Marilao, the CIDG said in a statement on Thursday.

According to the police unit, authorities seized 26,000 pieces of assorted vape products.

“‘Ping,’ a Chinese [individual], was caught while selling alleged unregistered vape products without the necessary permits and authority from the Department of Trade and Industry,” the CIDG said.

Police added that the arrested suspect faces a charge before the National Prosecution Service for violating Republic Act 11900 or the Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation. /das
