Heat index in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro soars to dangerous 45°C

San Jose in Occidental Mindoro reached a dangerous heat index of 45°C on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

MANILA, Philippines — San Jose in Occidental Mindoro reached a dangerous heat index of 45°C on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The latest Pagasa bulletin showed that its monitoring stations in the 26 other areas likewise experienced a heat index under the “danger” category, ranging from 42ºC to 51ºC:
