Sara Duterte lauds Filipino workers’ courage, dedication

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte on Labor Day paid tribute to Filipino workers globally, recognizing their courage and dedication.
In her Labor Day message, Duterte celebrated overseas Filipino workers, medical and security frontliners, community workers, teachers, and private and government employees.
“I salute your resilience, intelligence, and diligence that you demonstrate in your respective sectors, both within and outside the country,” said Duterte in a statement.

She then called on Filipinos to stay resilient and to continue to be persistent in bringing about meaningful change to the country.
Labor Day is declared a regular holiday, effectively suspending work and classes in the entire country.
While work and classes are suspended, labor protests and job fairs are conducted throughout the country during the holiday.
