Manila Water announces May desludging schedule, urges customer participation

Manila Water releases the Barangay desludging schedule for the month of May. The East Zone Concessionaire reiterates the importance of regularly siphoning septic tanks every five years to protect waterways and public health.
Manila Water has announced its May desludging schedule, urging customers to participate in this essential service to safeguard public health. By ensuring regular maintenance of septic systems, Manila Water aims to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases and promote a cleaner, healthier community.
Regular siphoning of septic tanks every five years is an effective way to prevent contamination of waterways, thereby protecting community health and the environment. Sludge from households is transported to Manila Water’s sewage treatment plants, where it undergoes a meticulous treatment process before being released into rivers.
Manila Water ensures that the discharge from its sewage treatment plants meets “Class C” standards, making it safe for marine life and non-contact uses such as cleaning and irrigation.
