President Marcos announces free MRT, LRT rides on April 30-May 3

MANILA, Philippines — Train commuters may enjoy free rides at Metro Rail Transit Line 3 and Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 from April 30 to Labor Day on May 3,  President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced.

In a video message on Tuesday, the President said in Filipino: “I would like to tell all our commuters that I have ordered that in order to give our little tribute to our workers here today – as part of the Labor Day Celebration, rides on MRT 3, LRT 1 and 2 will be free.”

“It is from April 30 to May 3. This is as a small recognition of the sacrifice and the contribution of our workers not only to our economy but also to our society. Happy Labor Day,” Marcos also said
