Authorities on Saturday arrested two men—one of them a police officer—who were allegedly members of a drug-crazed gang that ransacked a house in Sta. Ana, Manila, and took P2.1 million worth of valuables on Wednesday last week.
The victims positively identified PO1 Roberto Cruz of the Manila Police District’s Sta. Ana station and Regente Osalla, 36, also of Sta. Ana, as two of the four armed men who barged into their house on Paco Roman Street at around 8:30 p.m. on May 30.
The men allegedly forced the household members, including 3 children, into the toilet before looting the house, according to the father, Carlo Marc Bagui, 36, a senior sales manager at SM Development Corp.
They took the family’s jewelry, high-end gadgets, some important documents, and even the pet Shih Tzu and the chocolate bars in the refrigerator, Bagui told the Inquirer yesterday.
Among the stolen jewelry were diamond-studded lockets containing the ashes of a family member, he added
