‘Dangerous’ heat index forecast in Bulacan, 25 other areas

MANILA, Philippines — Bulacan and 25 other areas across the country would experience “dangerous” heat levels on Tuesday, April 22, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The “danger” category means that the heat index is between 42 and 51°C, which is likely to cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
In its latest heat index bulletin, Pagasa predicted a heat index of 46°C in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
The heat index was forecast to reach 45°C in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, and 44°C in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Meanwhile, Pagasa said 49 areas in the country will experience a heat index level in the “extreme caution” category, which is between 33 and 41°C.
This included Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City (41°C) and the Science Garden in Quezon City (40°C).
