MANILA, Philippines — Rains are expected in parts of Mindanao due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) on Tuesday, April 22, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The ITCZ is an area where winds from the northern and southern hemispheres converge.
(There’s a cloud cluster here in southern Mindanao and this is the intertropical convergence zone… This will bring scattered rain showers in some parts here in Mindanao.)
Dominguez specified that these areas were the Davao Region and provinces of South Cotabato, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

As for the rest of the country, fair weather is expected on Tuesday with warm and humid conditions from midday until afternoon, according to Pagasa.
(We expect isolated or brief rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and the evening.)
