‘Danger’ heat index seen in Pasay, 18 other locations
MANILA, Philippines — State weather bureau’s station in Pasay City and its site in 18 other areas are seeing a heat index temperature that falls under the “danger” category for Monday, April 21.
The Ninoy Aquino International Airport station in Pasay City is forecast to report a heat index temperature of 44°C, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa)’s forecast.
The heat index, which ranges from 42°C to 51°C, is in the “danger” category. It could likely cause heat cramps and exhaustion, while heat stroke is probable with continued exposure to the sun.

Also, Pagasa said danger-level heat indices are seen in these areas nationwide:

Below the danger category are “extreme caution” heat index, which ranges from 33-41°C, and “caution,” which ranges from 27 to 32°C.
“Extreme danger,” or the highest category of heat index level, is declared when heat index temperatures reach 52 degrees Celsius and beyond.
The heat index measures the level of discomfort an average person experiences due to the combined effects of the temperature and air humidity.
On March 26, Pagasa announced the start of the dry season in the country.
