Valenzuela City fire rages for 15 hours

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported on Saturday that it finally had control of the fire in Valenzuela City’s industrial district that raged for 15 hours.
The BFP’s Metro Manila office said the fire at the facility of the Flexo Manufacturing Corp. in Barangay Veinte Reales broke out at around 5 p.m. on Friday and was not declared under control until 8:12 a.m. on Saturday, or about 15 hours.

The blaze reached Task Force Alpha at 7:50 p.m. on Friday and a total of 34 firetrucks responded to the alert. There were no reported casualties, but probers had not concluded their investigation at press time. —Diane Sampang
