25 areas veer toward `danger zone’ based on Pagasa heat index

MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-five areas across the country are expected to sizzle under the “danger” level of heat index on Black Saturday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Under this category, heat index ranges from 42°C to 51°C where heat cramps and heat exhaustions are possible while continued exposure to the sun can lead to heat stroke.
Pagasa’s updated Friday bulletin also said that Infanta, Quezon and Ambulong in Tanauan, Batangas are forecast to hit the highest heat index at 44°C.

Meanwhile, 23 other areas are expected to experience dangerous heat indices:
