Dangerous heat index hits 26 areas; 45°C in Catarman, Northern Samar

MANILA, Philippines — Catarman, Northern Samar experienced a heat index of 45°C which falls under the “danger” level (42°C to 51°C ) on Good Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa warned that under such conditions, heat exhaustion and heat cramps are possible while continued exposure to the sun can lead to heat stroke.
