LRT-2 maintenance activities in full swing on Holy Week
MANILA, Philippines — Maintenance activities in Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) have already begun after its operations were suspended for the Holy Week, said its operator on Maundy Thursday.
According to the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), part of its maintenance activities is the repainting of LRT-2 platform markers.

“Clear platform markers are important for orderly and safe passenger queuing,” the LRTA said in an advisory.

Meanwhile, apart from the repainting of platform markers, other maintenance activities being conducted include preventive maintenance of trains, changing contact lines in various stations, general cleaning of rails and other amenities, as well as rail grinding.
LRTA, along with other train operators, suspended its railway activities from April 17 (Holy Thursday) to April 20 (Easter Sunday) to give way for its annual maintenance activities.
Normal operations are set to return on Monday, April 21.
