2 drivers test positive for illegal drug use in Iloilo City
ILOILO CITY — Two drivers tested positive for illegal drug use in a surprise test conducted Tuesday, April 15, by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in this city.
LTO Regional Director Gaudioso Geduspan said a taxi driver and a tricycle driver were among those subjected to a drug test conducted in a Ceres terminal in Jaro.
Both drivers will get a show-cause order from the LTO and undergo a confirmatory test.
The surprise drug test for drivers was to ensure the safety of commuters and riders during Holy Week.
The LTO tested at least 106 drivers and conductors of public utility jeepneys, taxis, and tricycles on Tuesday in partnership with the Philippines Drug Enforcement Agency.
