MANILA, Philippines — A bus company reportedly involved in an accident along North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Valenzuela City was suspended early Tuesday morning, according to Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon.
Dizon made the announcement in an ambush interview at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
“Pinasuspinde muna ang isang bus company na na-involve sa isang malaking aksidente sa NLEX kagabi sa Valenzuela, yung Draven Bus Company na pumupunta Manila hanggang Pampanga then Manila,” the Department of Transportation (DOTr) chief revealed.
(We suspended a bus company involved in a big accident in NLEX, Valenzuela, last night. This is the Draven Bus Company; its buses travel from Manila to Pampanga and then back to Manila.)

“Ilalabas namin mamaya yung suspension order ng LTFRB (Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board) dahil grabe daw ang patakbo at mukhang may problema yung sasakyan pero sinuspinde muna yung Draven Bus Company upon the recommendation of Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III na in-authorize natin kaninang madaling araw,” he added.
(We will release the suspension order from the LTFRB later, because based on reports, the vehicle was going too fast and allegedly had problems. We authorized the suspension early Tuesday morning, which was recommended by Chairman Guadiz.)
Dizon did not provide other details concerning the accident.
