Game today:

5 p.m. – Prime Asia vs. Kia Motors
THE KIA Motors-Cebu Institute of Technology-Univeristy Wildcats fight for their lives as they face defending champions Prime Asia-University of the Visayas in Game 3 of the best-of-five championship series of the 6th Cesafi Partner’s Cup today at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Wildcats gave it their alll against the Green Lancers in Game 2 but still came up short as they lost, 77-80, leaving them a loss away from allowing UV to repeat as champions of the annual preseason tournament.
In spite of a nine-point deficit with 1:26 left, the Wildcats relented and came to within two after some clutch baskets by Floyd Taboada and Allen Dimco. A missed three at the buzzer prevented them from extending the match to an extra session.
Taboada put up 23 points but it was Vincent Menguito that proved to be the revelation in the last game as he did a yeoman’s job in the form of 19 points and 21 rebounds.
All those was not enough to stop UV as veteran Phil Mercader came alive and scored 21 points while Wowie Escosio and John Abad each tallied 15 markers. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
