Lapu karatedo team honored at home

THE LAPU-LAPU City Karatedo Team was given recognition by Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza after showing potential in two major tournaments this year.

Radaza met the team in a courtesy call at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall yesterday.

The LLC karatedo team managed to put up impressive performances despite still being a young team.

The team, headed by head coach Reynante Vidal, won gold medals in the Philippine-Karatedo Federation-National Sports Association (PKF-NSA) tournament held at the PhilSports Arena and the 2012 Philippine National Games (PNG) in Dumaguete.

Because of the honor and pride they gave to Lapu-Lapu City, Radaza aided the team P15,000 and promised them a long-term financial support. She also promised that the group will be allowed to use a facility at the Hoops Dome for their practice.

“I am very proud of them,” said Radaza.
