“As of last night, there are 1,018 buses with the special permit,” LTFRB spokesperson Ariel told reporters on Tuesday.
“These are the buses originating from Metro Manila with different points of destination in the provinces,” he added.
The period for accepting applications for special permits ran from February 24 to March 7.

The LTFRB previously announced that the special permits would be valid from April 13 to April 26.
The board explained that the issuance of special permits allows more public utility vehicles to accommodate a surge of passengers outside their designated routes.
