LRT-1, LRT-2, MRT-3, PNR to suspend ops from Holy Thu to Easter Sun

MANILA, Philippines — All train operators have announced the suspension of operations from April 17 (Holy Thursday) to April 20 (Easter Sunday) to give way to maintenance activities.
According to the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), Light Rail Transit – Line 1 (LRT-1) operations will be temporarily suspended for the annual repairs and system upgrades.

Normal operations, however, will be running from April 14 to 16, 2025 (Holy Monday to Holy Wednesday).
“All LRT-1 trains will undergo thorough testing and inspection before the normal operation of the entire line resumes on 21 April 2025 (Monday),” said the LRMC in a recent statement.
Meanwhile, the Light Rail Transit Authority also announced that the LRT-2 will likewise suspend its operations on the same dates, with normal operations resuming on April 21.
The same goes for Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and the Philippine National Railways (PNR).

Train operators traditionally make use of the Holy Week holidays to hold their yearly maintenance schedules.
