Davao City to experience ‘extreme caution’ level of heat index Sunday

Davao City in Davao del Sur is set to experience the highest heat index at 40°C on Sunday (March 23), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

MANILA, Philippines — Davao City in Davao del Sur is set to experience the highest heat index at 40°C on Sunday (March 23), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

According to Pagasa’s updated Saturday bulletin, the city falls under the “extreme caution” category, where heat index ranges from 33°C to 41°C.

It warned that heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible while continued exposure to the sun can lead to heat stroke.

Heat index is defined as the apparent temperature people feel, or what humans feel as heat affects their bodies.
