35 nabbed, over P122,000 worth of illegal drugs seized in Bicol

DARAGA, Albay — Thirty-five suspects were arrested in separate operations launched by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Bicol on Monday and Tuesday.

In its daily accomplishment report, Bicol police said 30 operations were conducted in its campaign against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, loose firearms, and wanted persons.

Eight persons were arrested for their violations against the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165). Police seized P122,288 worth of 17.95 gram shabu (crystal meth) and 1.9 grams of marijuana in seven operations across the region.

Meanwhile, nine wanted persons and eight others were captured in 17-operation “Manhunt Charlie,” the PNP operation that targets to “hunt” and arrest most and other wanted persons in a region, province, or municipality.

For illegal gambling, two operations were conducted that led to the arrest of eight individuals.

Two persons were also arrested in four operations launched against the possession of loose firearms. Three firearms were confiscated while the other two were surrendered, the police reported.
