63-year-old woman hurt as fire engulfs storage area in Taguig City

A fire broke out at a junk shop along Barangay New Lower in Bicutan Taguig City early morning Monday, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out at a storage area along Barangay New Lower in Bicutan Taguig City early morning Monday, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The BFP said it received information about an ongoing blaze at 129 Purok 1-A along MRT Avenue around 2:10 a.m.

The agency’s report said that the fire reached the first alarm around 2:15 a.m. and the second alarm at 2:24 a.m.

It reached the third alarm at 2:41 a.m. and was placed under control by 5:21 a.m.

A total of 18 fire trucks and an ambulance have responded to the scene, the BFP said.

Based on the latest update, the fire injured a 63-year-old woman who also suffered difficulty breathing.

Further details on the extent of the damage and the cause of the fire are still unavailable.
