Dole readies 70 job fairs nationwide

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) on Friday said it will bring employment opportunities closer to Filipino job seekers through nationwide job fairs offering thousands of local and overseas job openings this March.

On its website and social media pages, the Dole published schedules of over 70 job fairs in 16 regions.

In Metro Manila, eight job fairs were held in the first two weeks of March, with about a dozen more scheduled up to the end of the month.

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the country’s employment rate reached 95.7 percent in January 2025, slightly improving from 95.5 percent in January 2024.

In terms of actual figures, 48.49 million Filipinos were employed in January 2025, an increase from 45.90 million in January 2024 and 48.16 million in October 2024, respectively.

In his official statement on the January 2025 Labor Force Survey, Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said the Dole “will continue to promote the Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas through monthly or bi-weekly job fairs, linking vulnerable groups to sustained income opportunities, and support MSMEs through accelerated Adjustment Measures Programs initiatives in the countryside” to further strengthen the labor market.
