LTO gives free driving course for women in Bicol, Western Visayas

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has conducted a free Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) for women in the Bicol region and Western Visayas in celebration of this year’s National Women’s Month.
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) said on Thursday it conducted a free Theoretical Driving Course(TDC) for women in the Bicol Region and in Western Visayas.
In a statement, the LTO said the TDC, a 15-hour mandatory course for those seeking student driver permits, was conducted from March 11 to 12 in celebration of National Women’s Month.
“The LTO Pamplona District Office in Libmanan, Camarines Sur was able to train 149 female drivers,” the government agency said.
It said the TDC program aims to create safer roads and promote inclusivity in driver’s education.

Meanwhile, the agency said LTO Western Visayas is set to train more female drivers in the region, scheduled on March 14 at the LTO-6 Driver’s Education Center in Iloilo City.
Similar programs were also conducted throughout the Bicol region, according to LTO Bicol.
“The LTO Iriga District Office conducted a Free Theoretical Driving Course seminar at the DEC Center, while the LTO Pili Extension Office held its TDC session, offering simple tokens to female student permit applicants,” LTO Bicol shared in the same statement.
“The LTO Labo District Office and LTO Daet District Office also conducted seminars to further extend this opportunity to women in their respective areas,” it added.
