5 drug suspects yield P1.9M worth of shabu in Laguna, Batangas, Rizal
LUCENA CITY — Police anti-illegal drug operatives confiscated more than P1.9 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) from five suspected drug traffickers who were arrested Wednesday in buy-bust operations in Laguna, Batangas, and Rizal provinces.
A report by the Police Region 4A (PRO-4A) said the Laguna drug enforcement unit and policemen in San Pablo City held “Julio,” “Morris,” and “Francis” at 9:50 p.m. after they sold P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in a transaction in Barangay Sto. Angel.
The suspects were caught in alleged possession of three plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 200 grams worth about P1,360,000.
The report tagged the three suspects as a high-value individual (HVI) in the local drug trade.
HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.
In Batangas City, anti-narcotics agents nabbed “Muslim,” also an HVI, at 10:40 p.m. in a sting operation in Barangay Alangilan.
The law enforcers seized one sachet containing 50 grams of meth worth P340,000.
The cops also confiscated a mobile phone, which will be examined for records of drug transactions.
Meanwhile, policemen in Tanza, Rizal arrested “Christopher” at 9:35 p.m. after he sold a pack of shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay Amaya 2.
Authorities seized from the suspect, an unidentified street pusher in the locality, two sachets containing shabu weighing 32.50 grams worth P221,000.
All suspects are under police custody and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
