Muslim judges, court personnel have flexible work hours during Ramadan

MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court has allowed flexible working hours for Muslim judges and court personnel during the celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Under the Office of the Court Administrator Circular 47-2025, they can work from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays without noon break “during and up to the end of Ramadan.”

Court Administrator Raul Villanueva signed the Circular.

The flexible working hours may also be availed of by those working on Saturdays during the period of Ramadan.

“Ramadan is the ninth month of the Hijri calendar and fasting in this month is the fourth pillar of Islam,” the Ulama Council of Zamboanga Peninsula said on its social media page.

Ramadan started last March 2.
