Active cop nabbed for alleged possession of drugs worth P238,000

MANILA, Philippines — An active duty member of the Philippine National Police (PNP) was arrested in Pasay City for allegedly possessing drugs worth P238,000, according to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Thursday.
The NCRPO report said Angeles City-based Police Corporal Michael Mones, 37, was apprehended in a buy-bust operation at a shopping mall along Roxas Boulevard late Wednesday evening.
He was caught with an alleged 35 grams of shabu (crystal meth).
Operatives with the Southern Police District (SPD) also recovered a pistol bearing serial number PNP 04358 with a magazine containing 14 live rounds of ammunition.
The SPD also seized a gun holster, a pair of handcuffs, and a PNP identification card.

The suspect faces a case for violating the Dangerous Drugs Act, the Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and the Omnibus Election Code.
