MANILA, Philippines—The Supreme Court has yet to determine whether former Chief Justice Renato Corona will be given his benefits for his stint in the Judiciary.
Based on the notice of judgment by the Senate Impeachment Court, the penalty after Corona has been convicted is “removal from office and disqualification to hold any officer under the Republic of the Philippines.”
Acting high court Spokesperson Gleo Guerra said the high court will determine if attached to that is the forfeiture of his benefits. It will be discussed on June 19, when the high court resumes its regular en banc session.
Currently, the high court is in a month long break. It will resume session next month.
