Aegis rallies past Stream Global

THE AEGIS Vipers rallied in the second half to post an 84-74 upset over the defending champion Stream Global Ingenyouity last Monday in the 2012 Sun Cellular E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

The Vipers overhauled a 33-44 halftime deficit as they pounded the defending champions in the second half to seal their third win in four games.

After moving within 58-59 after the third, Aegis successfully dropped the upset axe when it outscored Stream in the fourth, 16-15.

Ryan Veloso paced Aegis with 25, Dean Junber Escalon donated 21, while Clifford Amarado and Steve Warren Navaja pitched in 17 and 10, respectively.

Sylvester Millevo finished with 23 points for Stream, which tasted its first loss in three outings.

In other games, the Qualfon Knights tripped the &1 Marauders, 63-57, while the Cebu Global Warriors survived the Sykes Pioneers, 61-55.

Jopher Regidor topped Qualfon with 25 points. Gerald Jacaban had 10 points and five rebounds  for the team’s third win against the same number of losses.

Rowen Tagalog scored 19 points, Jay Paradiang added 16 for the Warriors, who ended a two-game slide.
