Policemen have recovered in Pangasinan province a vehicle which was stolen three months ago in Binondo, Manila.

Agents of the Manila Police District’s Anti-Carnapping and Hijacking (MPD-ANCARH) team found the maroon Toyota Innova (ZNG 523) in Umingan town on Monday based on a tip from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Marikina City.

Based on the information, the vehicle had been registered in the name of Arvin Artiaga, a resident of Umingan town, in the LTO Rosales, Pangasinan office.

MPD-ANCARH head Chief Insp. Ariel Caramoan told the Inquirer that the owner of the van, Arlene Ty, had reported that her vehicle was stolen on March 29 while it was parked at the Twin Towers building at the corner of Escolta and Tomas Pinpin Streets in Binondo.

Caramoan said that his unit immediately coordinated with the different LTO offices to track down the stolen vehicle.

MPD-ANCARH agents coordinated with the Umingan police and found the van on Saliente Street in Poblacion West, Umingan town. No one came forward to claim the vehicle, leading them to believe that it had been abandoned.

Caramoan said they were conducting follow-up operations to arrest those behind the theft of the van.
