MANILA, Philippines — Graduating beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) will still continue to receive government support, Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian said on Friday.

Gatchalian made this statement during the “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas” job fair by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) with 94 participating employers invited by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for over 12,000 graduating 4Ps members.

He said that the job fair opportunities can assure the beneficiaries that they will not slide back down to poverty.

“President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed us… to ensure that the needs of our 4Ps graduates or beneficiaries that are exiting the program can still be provided. It includes landing a job to ensure that you will not go back to poverty,” Gatchalian said partly in Filipino in his speech.

“I know that the process is long but I assure you that the national government, and the DSWD will continue to assist you in your daily needs,” Gatchalian added in Filipino.

Special Assistant to the President Antonio Lagdameo Jr., also present in the job fair, delivered a speech on behalf of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

“I am deeply glad to be here with you and I want to congratulate you for graduating in the 4Ps program. This is your victory and this is a symbol of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance to stand on your own feet,” Lagdameo noted in Filipino.

Lagdameo also expressed that the government aims to have more Filipinos who can meet their own needs.

“We aim to have more Filipinos that can stand on their own feet to meet their needs. Because this means that more Filipinos can now contribute to the society,” Lagdameo added.

Further, Department of Trade and Industry, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Philippine Statistics Authority, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine National Police, Social Security System, Bureau of Internal Revenue, PhilHealth (Philippine Health Insurance Corporation), Pag-IBIG Fund, and the Office of the President were also present in the job fair to provide “employment and advisory services.”
