MANILA, Philippines — The administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is “grateful” for the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, which indicates that 59 percent of Filipinos are satisfied with its performance.
In a statement on Thursday, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said, “As always, we are grateful for the people’s support, as reflected in surveys that have consistently placed us in overwhelmingly positive territory.”

He said they are particularly thankful for the “encouraging results” regarding the government’s response to calamities and disasters, the delivery of basic education, programs for the poor, and job creation.
“We likewise appreciate the positive reception of our efforts to build housing, put food on tables, and improve transportation,” Bersamin also said.
However, he also noted that survey results are “mostly a weathervane for public opinion”—reflecting how much people support government policies but not necessarily how effective those policies are.
“In that sense, the truest measure of public service is whether we improve our people’s lives. This remains the primary standard by which we measure our work,” Bersamin said.
“Having said that, we value these periodic mood meter readings as feedback tools that allow us to further enhance our service delivery,” he also said.

Based on the December 2024 SWS survey, 59 percent were content with the Marcos administration’s performance.
This is one percentage point down from the 60 percent result found by the pollster last September.
It also showed that the administration’s net satisfaction rating was +36 in December, which is classified as “Good” by the SWS, the same rating it attained in September.
