2 dead in Binondo condo blaze

MANILA, Philippines — Two persons died when fire struck a condominium unit in Binondo, Manila, early Wednesday morning, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The BFP spot report said the fire was first reported at 3:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
It reached the first alarm at 3:41 a.m. and was placed under control by 4:37 a.m.
The fire originated in a unit on the 35th floor of the Anchor Skysuites, a 56-story condominium along Ongpin Street, the BFP said.
Article continues after this advertisementIt was extinguished by 4:51 a.m. Damage to property was pegged at P4.5 million.
The BFP is still investigating the cause of the fire as of posting time.
