MANILA, Philippines — Three weather systems will continue to bring rain across the country on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In a morning forecast, Pagasa weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said the northeast monsoon or amihan, the shear line, and the easterlies are still present in the country, bringing cooler weather.
“Sa kasalukuyan po, inaasahan pa rin natin ‘yung mga pag-ulan sa ilang bahagi po ng ating bansa, dulot po ng patuloy na epekto ng mga weather systems na patuloy pong nakakaapekto sa ating kapuluan,” she explained.
(At present, we still expect rains in some parts of the country due to the continued effects of weather systems impacting the archipelago.)
According to Dominguez, the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.
“At sa mga susunod na araw, unti-unti pong lalakas ulit ‘yung epekto nitong northeast monsoon, magdudulot po ‘yun ang mga pag ulan sa eastern sections ng Luzon area,” she further noted.
(In the coming days, the effects of the northeast monsoon will gradually intensify, bringing rains to the eastern sections of Luzon.)
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also due to the northeast monsoon.
Dominguez explained that the shear line will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Dinagat Islands.
“Buong araw po magiging makulimlim ‘yung panahon at may mga kasama po ‘yan na mga kalat-kalat mga pag-ulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog ng mga moderate to, at times, heavy na mga pag-ulan,” she said.
(The weather will remain cloudy throughout the day, accompanied by scattered rains, lightning, thunder, and moderate to sometimes heavy rainfall.)

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may also be seen in Palawan and the rest of Visayas due to the same weather system.
The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to the rest of Mindanao on Wednesday.
A gale warning was hoisted over the northern, western, and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon.
Rough to very rough sea conditions are expected in these areas, with wave heights reaching 2.8 to 5 meters.
