Pangandaman said DBM is also working with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority in promoting the Green Green Green program by launching several parks, bike lanes and open spaces, not just in Metro Manila but nationwide.

In a statement released during the activity, the DBM said the OGP Fun Run aims to promote health and wellness and “to champion the values of open government.”

OGP was founded in 2011 as an initiative among nations led by the United States under the leadership of former President Barack Obama.

The Philippines is a co-founder, along with Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Norway, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

The event’s proceeds will go to the humanitarian programs of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

“Every step in this Fun Run is a contribution to our life-saving programs which will allow us to serve more vulnerable communities all over the country,” PRC Secretary-General Dr. Gwendolyn Pang said.
